there's a man on a stage his pretension has plagued him through life in his palm wears a gauge which does tell his left leg do turn right the temptation is rage the intentional day gave delight when it did turn the page and no mind did he pay gideon's might there's a town built on sand and by two blood-soaked hands did it rise here the tower's unmanned and the jury withstands compromise a production so grand in all truth it commands no reprise yet the critics all panned this consortium of canned socialites there's an ocean on stilts once that abbey road built in her head an er head often tilts to one side for the guilt this has bred it's been woven to quilts that she did wear as a kilt once to bed with a lover she jilts then deposits in silt once he's dead there's a staff made of string that the shopkeeper swings through the square when the phone it does ring no reply does it bring so beware of the ruthless boy king he notoriously sings "put er there" while an old man does cling to his forty day flings and affairs there's a child dressed in steel while his mother appeals to the judge who's unwilling to deal for a baby who heals with a grudge let the hangman reveal if salvation is real stones will budge maybe time is a wheel for the woman who kneels in the sludge there's a sky bathed in stone which is no longer home to the sun yeah the moon it's alone though the clouds they do roam one by one past harmonica's drone to the tune which does no man hear sung to the stage walk the bones of the man once was known for his tongue

We're so far We're so far away from home We're invisible and we're unknown And this Car This Car is skinking like a stone If we are indivisible, don't leave me alone We hit the street The street held nothing but our hope When you pray for way too much your heart can't let go Call this a fond farewell to the places I've known. We're gonna run just like we know that you know that our feet can't touch the ground. In the time that has passed, have you grown? Were your last words and your first breaths meaningful? Call this a fond farewell to the places I've known. We're gonna run just like we know that you know that our feet can't touch the ground.

If We Don't (free) 04:06
That's it? I waited half my life for this? I turned on my tv, or should I say that the TV turned on me? I guess it's less than I have come to expect I am a faithful follower of a broadcast messiah in the Church of Orchestrated Bliss Defined: defined by what I have not by what I give. Confined: I'm living a life that the scriptwriter wants me to live But the late night numbers are down Still we're the darlings of the underground And I try and I try But I'm tired, i'm so tired Well I try so hard but I'm tired so tired Is this the road that we were dying to ride on? I know we gotta write a hit, and if we don't then this is it And if we don't I know we gotta write a hit, and if we don't then this is it and if we don't. Cross-eyed I'm punch drunk with fear I'm gonna touch all your frets I'll slide my hand down your neck But the chorus hasn't happened yet I guess it's less than I had come to expect My every word hits the page and then it washes away This is the movie score you'll never hear And I try and I try But I'm tired, i'm so tired Well I try so hard but I'm tired so tired Is this the road that we were dying to ride on? I know we gotta write a hit, and if we don't then this is it And if we don't I know we gotta write a hit, and if we don't then this is it and if we don't.

Walls 06:22
you have claimed so many times that everyone around you is a hero and to varying degrees it is the company you keep which keeps you well you're like a soldier on parade; you bear the scars of all the lives you took away i find it sad and so ironic. the existence you choose is one that dares you not to dream let it slide? i'll let it slide the day we leave is truly the day that we arrive and i've run out of complex ways to tell myself that things are still the same and every time that we go back i still can hear that hidden track every action has a purpose this is the time we ran from the winter and i swore we could run through walls you were proving to speculation it's no answer and that truth is experience and you say "they're all chasing yesterday" and you say they're all chasing you, they're chasing you and you say "they're all crazy, anyways" and you say they're all chasing you, they're chasing you and you say "they're all basically the same" and you say "they're all basically the same" and you will say "they're all crazy anyways" and you will say that they're all chasing you, they're chasing you

you're the only one who gets me you get me every time that you lift your head and show me that you're mine you're the only one who gets me you get me when i'm lost falling on my face i fall off the face of the earth if this is it, then that is that don't cry some things we don't know but you can't say we've lived until we've tried you're the only one who gets me you get me every time that you lift your head and show me that you're mine you're the only one who gets me you get me when i'm lost falling on my face i fall off the face of the earth if this is it, then that is that don't cry i'll be here just open your heart and close your eyes and like all things, i too must pass in time but in your bones, i hope you know i'm still alive

i can honestly say there is a feeling i get when i look to the west there, i cannot explain, but i will attempt to reflect how these streets make perfect patterns yet make no sense and it seems so safe to say yeah it's easy to see how I O Lost You How I left to my own devices i am an amateur cartographer, right? you'll rise in the east, lost forgotten in love i take the next turn you take the wheel oh these streets in perfect patterns don't make you feel that it is safe to say yeah it's easy to see how I O Lost You How I left while you slept right by your side up for the morning and im down with the night i'll make you a promise that i'll help you forget i want to desire less i'll take what i can get i could have another drink could take another pill and then crawl out to your place out in signal hill will you just watch me sleep off my last cigarette? we could dream of those streets in perfect patterns where we first met

Moenjodaro 03:20
and so it ends without a chance to begin will this one word break down these four walls just like it did back then? hey darlin, i really wanna break your heart but don't you put it back together just to watch somebody blow it apart i should tell you a thing or two before we start: nothing good should last forever and nothing good should be so hard and so it ends without a chance to begin will this one word break down these four walls just like it did back then? you and i we have watched this river rise and the city's left behind treading water at the wake o, moenjodaro's fate this morning i'm leaving gonna find my way into another situation without a good reason to stay like i told you by the evening all i have to say although my head is full of purpose i haven't got the heart to swim and so it ends without a chance to begin will this one word break down these four walls just like it did back then? you and i we have watched this river rise and the city's left behind treading water at the wake o, moenjodaro's fate

here the leaves have hit the ground and i don't make a sound is that right? you've been here before, but never by yourself and now you are alone now is tomorrow's yesterday today i'm more afraid to be right every word i say means something to me but not to you what's it like to look out and see the ocean? what's it like to look out and see the ocean? if i could i'd fall asleep tonight where the sun hasn't set and the air is not quite so clear my patience lives inside your smile and it dies in central standard time what's it like to look out and see the ocean? what's it like to look out and see the ocean?

Hospital Food (free) 03:32
a bullet leaves a bed where broken bones are fed and time don't rest for hangers-on the magazines all read but noone's taking bets love is free and takes its toll with every ounce of flesh the crowd is less impressed by open hearts and minor keys and as for who's been blessed it's anybody's guess when no one's wearing worn out knees they'll spare the bridges but the buildings will all burn out past the freeway where the neon starts to rise there are two infinities and in between is where we die
